The Bengaluru that every 90s kid experienced was completely on a different level and nobody forgets the true essence of that period. It was calm, serene, with a lot of greenery and less traffic.

TRAVELING IN DOUBLE DECKER AND PUSHPAK BUSES
The definition of luxury was the pushpak buses. The excitement levels were on the top every time we traveled in them whether be it standing or sitting.  Double-decker buses were everyone’s favorite back then. As kids, we always wanted to travel in double-decker buses just to experience the top view.
UTILITY BUILDING WAS THE TALLEST BUILDING
Now Bangalore has got n number of tall buildings, but back then it was the only tallest building that could be seen from far off places. It has 25 floors and stands at 106m. The main architect was Atul Sharma. Utility building was the pride of Bengaluru back then.
GROWING UP IN VATARAS
We are sure that you wouldn’t have heard of this, we have got gated communities now but in the 90s vataras were the gated communities of the middle class. With 6 – 8 house owned by a single owner growing up in vataras was always sakkath.
VISITING LALBAGH/CUBBON PARK ON WEEKENDS
We all waited for weekends to come just to visit the Lalbagh, Cubbon park and to sit and travel in sakkath train eating muskin Jola. Best times isn’t it?
A VISIT TO EXHIBITIONS – 90s Bengaluru
The most sakkath experience is visiting the exhibitions held at open spaces on a large scale.
Taking a ride on giant wheels and many other fun activities. Roaming around with friends. Watching circus and everyone remembers eating cotton candies and popcorns.
GOING TO AIRLINES HOTEL WAS A BIG DEAL BACK THEN
It was believed that only rich people hang out there and it was a place known for settlements be it official or unofficial ones. Even the dons of Bangalore used to pay their visit to this hotel frequently. So it was a big deal back then. Friends of us would consider it as a pride factor visiting this hotel.
Wow, those days were just Sakkath.
