3. The Golden Lake

The reservoir was created due to the damming of River Sharavathi, and this resulted in a reservoir that looks like a water bed spread over an area of 350 sq. km. The lake is filled with clear water that reflects the surrounding forests and hills, creating a fantastic view.

6. Dabbe Falls 

Hidden away amid lush green forests, this waterfall is a sight to behold. The mesmerizing waterfalls, ignored by many tourists, remains a little-known treasure, located just 15 km from the town.

7. Sigandur Chowdeshwari Temple

When you travel 11 kilometres away from the town, you’ll find the holy temple Sigandur Chowdeshwari. It’s an important pilgrimage site for those who worship the mighty goddess, Chamundeshwari. People believe that Chamundeshwari still lives in the temple and protects people from theft and robbery.

8. Gademane 

Gademane is a small town located close to the Honnemardu lake. It is about a 10 km drive from Honnemaradu and people of the Deeva community here.

The Deeva community is famous for its art form, the Chitra Art. There are various types of handicrafts available here, including painted canvases, and the people of the Deeva community are famous for hand painting the walls of their houses.
